President Salva Kiir Mayardit has embarked on his second international trip of the year, travelling from Juba to South Africa for official talks.

Earlier this year, Kiir visited Addis Ababa to attend the African Union Assembly, where African leaders discussed key continental priorities including water management and sanitation.

Officials say the latest visit aims to further strengthen South Sudan’s diplomatic and economic ties with South Africa.
