The Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards for March have been announced, celebrating the athletes who excelled in their respective sports during the African Games.
Rugby’s spotlight was on Lydia Namabiro, whose stellar performance with the Lady Rugby Cranes Sevens team earned them a fourth-place finish in the HSBC Challengers Series in Montevideo. Namabiro’s four tries were a testament to her skill and helped her clinch the rugby award over Norbert Okeny and Peace Lekuru.
Football’s accolade was secured by Hakim Mutebi, who stood out among his peers, including Hippos teammate Usama Arafat and Catherine Nagadya of the Queen Cranes (Uganda U20 Women). His goal against Congo was a highlight of his performance in Ghana, leading to his recognition as the month’s top footballer, despite the team’s loss in the final against Ghana.
In Weightlifting, Davis Niyoyita’s achievements at the Games were honored as he returned with three medals, two silver and one bronze, representing Kakungulu Memorial School Kibuli.
